Yoshimura RS-3 2 in 1 full system will it fit a 2004?

Hi all I'm a new SV rider and am woundering if a Yoshimura RS-3 2-into-1 Complete Race Exhaust System will fit my 2004 1000s. The item number is 655766 at Kneedraggers, and it is listed for a 2003 bike only.

thank you,

mightySV

I believe it will fit - but don't take anyone's word for it here: contact Yoshimura before buying anything. They are in Chino:

Phone: (909) 628-4722
Information: (909) 627-9249
Orders Outside CA: (800) 634-9166
Fax: (909) 591-2198
Web: www.yoshimura-rd.com

2005 was the big change year for SV1Ks.

04 was the change in subframes... the 03 bike had a taller subframe which could cause a change the exhaust mounting point. so this exhaust will fit onto the pipe, but may not align properly.

Perhaps there is some confusion here about the SV models in question: there was no change in either the frame or subframe on SV1Ks between 2003 and 2004; there were however on 650s for those years.

In 2003, there were some differences between the standard and "S" model frames, but they share the same subframes.

Again - don't take ANYONE'S word for it here, call Yosh.

I work at Yoshimura and have a 2003 SV1000 with the 2-1 3/4 system. Raceinteach and SVNerd are correct in that there are no changes regarding the exhaust on the SV1000 mounting points from 03-04 (and up). However, there was a small issue with the 2003 systems that went unnoticed until recently. All has been updated now, but I'm sure that Kneedraggers has the old inventory. The systems listed for 2003 may give you issues on ANY year bike, where as the 04-up systems will fit all years. If you buy a 2003 system for your bike (any year), pm me, and we'll get you the correct updates to make it work if needed for your model.

No worries at all mightySV, we'll make sure your system is up to snuff. The pic in my profile has that exact system on it, just with a slightly different muffler style. IMO, the 2 into 1 collector's best benefit is the HUGE weight savings. You save in the neighborhood of 20 lbs (no joke) by losing the heavy 2 into 1 into 2 stock system.

Enjoy!
